The idea for 'Short Ride' was sparked when Lewis Fitzgerald paid a visit to his sick friend in the hospital. There, he overheard an emotional dialogue between the young woman and her cancer-stricken mother who passionately encouraged her daughter to live fast and die young. This resonated with Lewis so deeply that it became the foundation of inspiration for this song's concept.
