The innovative Arkansas duo known as Joan, consisting of Alan Benjamin Thomas and Steven Rutherford, debuts their fresh track ‘Don’t Say You Love Me’ just as summer officially kicks off. The song was shared from two upcoming EPs scheduled to arrive later this year courtesy of Photo Finish Records. For Joan's new ‘wave era’ chapter, fans can expect new singles from two EPs during the first Thursday of each month through the end of the year.

Joan is known for their unique alt-pop bops that incorporate hints of 90’s R&B influences. ‘Don’t Say You Love Me’ is a song about moving on from a relationship when one’s partner is no longer fully committed to making it work. The single bursts with a vibrant beat and an irresistible melody! Joan’s two forthcoming EP’s will also chronicle the beautiful beginnings and bittersweet endings of relationships.

Joan shares…

“With this project, we’re shooting a proper music video for each song with our favorite director in the world, Brandon Waddell. While thinking about the concept for this song, Brandon brought up the idea of doing a chatroom type performance from a bedroom. We've been thinking of a way to incorporate fans for a video shoot, and this one felt like the perfect opportunity to do so. We put out a casting call on social media, had thousands of fans reach out, and put the quickest responders in the video. This song and video is extremely special and important to us - it feels like a milestone we’ll look back on and remember when we’ve been a band for 50 years.”

Joan spent a large portion of 2019 on the road with major US and international tours supporting notable musicians like COIN, Bloc Party, The Aces, and Jeremy Zucker. Their EP ‘Cloudy’ has been streamed well over 90 million times since its debut last year, coupled with more than a million listeners a month across various streaming platforms! They have always worked hard to build their musical empire, with numerous singles and tour dates to boot. 2021 has already been an incredibly exciting year for the guys, but they are only just getting started. The duo is regularly working on writing and releasing new bops for fans to enjoy!
