Los Angeles, CA — Virginia-born artist, Genre, drops horror-themed hip-hop mixtape, “Slasher Mixtape”—streaming now on all major platforms. Stream "Slasher Mixtape" today on Spotify, here!

Genre releases his latest mixtape, “Slasher Mixtape.” Heavily inspired by the horror genre, the three-track mixtape pays tribute to Halloween with blood-curdling instrumentals and terror-inducing lyrics.

As the intro for the first track, “The Lake,” opens, listeners are immediately taken back to the iconic scene from “Friday the 13th Part 2,” where it is revealed that Jason’s body was never found. Channeling his inner Jason, Genre murders each verse on the track—it’s killing season and he’s got blood on his mind. He doesn’t hold back on tracks “Slasher” or “Hollyweird,” either. Blurring the lines between reality and fiction, Genre confronts notions of the self, building monsters out of men.

Driven by an immense passion for success, Genre offers listeners an introspective listening experience crafted specifically with them in mind. Whether you appreciate his lyricism, melodies, or contrasts of dark and light, Genre has something for everyone to enjoy. Inspired by the sounds of rock & roll since he was a child, he listened to bands such as Guns N’ Roses, The Doors, The Beatles and Nirvana. As he grew older, his taste in music evolved and he became obsessed with hip-hop. He studied the genre and was soon putting pen to paper, laying down raw lyricism. Genre’s friends and family have been strong supporters of his work and he credits them for where he is today.
