Los Angeles, CA — Florida singer-songwriter, Anthony Owl, drops spellbinding alternative R&B single, “Can You Hear Me Calling?”—streaming now on all major platforms. Stream "Can You hear Me Calling?" today on Spotify, here!

Anthony Owl releases his latest single, “Can You Hear Me Calling?” The rhythmic track features an ethereal blend of pop and R&B melodies, and through Owl’s smooth lyricism, an intimate story of self-love and acceptance unfolds.

“This song started out as a contest submission put on by artist Jarreau Vandal, on Twitch. In the middle of putting together my current project, I decided to take a break and create something that was fresh for the contest, but still a part of my story and journey. So, I made a beat while using a drum kit that Jarreau provided as part of the contest, and wrote a song about calling out my self-worth and loving who I see,” shares Owl.

“It’s a story of self-love, but disguised as someone in pursuit of gaining the confidence to approach someone beautiful that they are seeing for the first time—almost like love at first sight. I almost made it to the top four in the contest, but came up short; everyone really loved the record though, so I had no choice but to release it officially!” he exclaims.

While growing up in the sunny suburbs of Orlando, Florida, Owl felt like a misfit kid battling his way through a life filled with shadows and tension. Although he struggled at times, he was able to soak up a variety of creative impacts and managed to create an exceptional sound of his own. Influenced by the musical styles of artists like Beyoncé, Lenny Kravitz, Labrinth and The Weeknd, Owl’s music invites you to experience his personal journey and forces you to move as you feel his raw emotions.

“I just want people to feel that they’re not on this journey of becoming their true, authentic selves alone. I’m going through my own journey and battling my own mental wellbeing, so it’s hard sometimes to get out of a routine of something that you’ve done for years. But, if I have to call myself out to show myself and others that I am worthy, then that’s what I’m going to have to do,” explains Owl.
